More Progress

Feb 25, 2018

Just a simple update, I have finally managed to get the ground velocity to work. I can now stand on any moving object and be moved by it. There are still some features that needs to be added to this but it finally works. Your browser does not support the video tag.

Progress

So I've been still making the fps controller and the results are finally looking good. The controller is now reliably able to walk, crouch, run, jump, and be forced to crouch if not enough headroom is available. I have rudementary camera smoothing implemented and a test level created. Those who follow my programming escapades or use the Leadwerks game engine might recognize this level. It was recreated from the Leadworks fps tutorial in order to test all the controllers features. Additional sections will be added as new abilities are implimented. Your browser does not support the video tag. ...

Still Kicking Around

Dec 21, 2017

I've been still programming stuff when I can. I've had to slow down alot since my wrist is causing me pain. I got annoyed with constantly having to convert 3d models to FBX for the Leadwerks, so i created an importing tool for Leadwerks. You just need to save your 3d model file in any directory and it will be automatically converted to fbx, and then imported into the editor. In other news, I planned to enter into the Leadwerks Halloween Contest but time and scope of the game made it impossible to make before the deadline. Now I have a short game idea and a bunch of assets for it. I think when...

Fixing minor annoyances in Leadwerks

Sep 24, 2017

Months ago Leadwerks was updated to have a built in GUI system. Along with the GUI, it implemented a Half-Life 2 style game menu and options system. This was all fine and dandy, but there was one huge problem. Leadwerks by default chooses the maximum resolution of the monitor and not the current resolution. So if you are like me and have AMD's Virtual Super Resolution enabled but at a lower resolution, Leadwerks would start fullscreen and change your resolution to the maximum supported until you change the settings. That is something that I annoys me, so I went about to fix this. The first th...

Dev Update 9-1-2017 (Framework Restart)

Sep 02, 2017

Restarted my networking framework yet again. This time I gave it a new name 'Hexe'. The old name was 'Overwatch'. It was named long before the Overwatch game came out. It was based off the Half-Life Overwatch. It oversaw the players, ai spawning, contained a secondary path-finding system, but had no networking as it was not native to the LUA side of Leadwerks. 'Hexe' is German for 'witch'. I don't really know why I chose the name but I have the feeling I will be able to put it to good use. Maybe I'll even mix in some Anglish into it. This restart occurred because the framework became too cumbe...
